Butterfly Glen named for the large number of Butterflies in the garden is situated in the South African province of KwaZulu Natal, in the village of Southbroom.  It is 75 minutes south of Durban International Airport; 10 minutes from the popular South coast towns of Margate and Ramsgate; 15 minutes from Shelly Beach with two shopping malls. There are several excellent restaurants within the village and close by.

Directions to Butterfly Glen. Take the toll road N2 South from Durban, becoming the R61 at Port Shepstone and continue South. Ignore the first robot exit for Southbroom North, continue for about a further 1km and turn left at the Southbroom South signs. Follow the road  and then turn right into Outlook Road (400m). Follow Outlook Road and after passing the T7 sign and the turnings left and right to Capt. Smith Road take the next right into Dorwin Road (1.4km), also signposted to 'Tighnamara' then immediately take the right fork into Cliff Road. The entrance to Butterfly Glen is at the bottom of the road on the bend and on the right hand side (250m).
